Legal terms of participation for OnlineCV Spain and Latin America Contest

1. GENERAL

1.1 These Legal Bases contain the relevant information about the OnlineCV Spain Contest (the «Contest»), as well as the conditions for participation. The Contest is free and does not require any purchase. By participating in the Contest, participants expressly accept these Legal Bases, which can be consulted at any time through the website: https://www.onlinecv.es/concurso-universidades-es-latam/.

1.2 The Organizer reserves the right to modify the conditions established in these legal terms, if necessary, at its sole discretion.

2. CONTEST ORGANIZER

2.1. The Contest Organizer is LEAD CAREER, S.L., a Spanish limited liability company, with Tax Identification Number B66969718 and registered office at Avinguda Litoral 12-14, 5th floor; 08005, Barcelona, Spain (the “Organizer”). The Organizer is the owner and operator of www.onlinecv.es (the “Website”) through which tools and tips are offered to create CVs and cover letters.

3. TERRITORIAL SCOPE

3.1 The territorial scope of the Contest is Spain and Latin America, excluding Brazil, the Republic of Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.

4. DURATION OF THE CONTEST

4.1 The Contest will begin on 17-03-2025 and end on 12-05-2025 (the «Contest Duration»). Participants must submit their work to be considered eligible. The winner will be announced after the Contest’s closing date, in accordance with Clause “7. WINNER SELECTION AND ANNOUNCEMENT» of these Legal Bases.

4.2 The Organizer reserves the right to modify the Contest Duration if necessary and/or to cancel the Contest.

5. RULES AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

5.1 This Contest is open to students enrolled in a Spanish or Latin American higher education institution (excluding the countries mentioned in Clause 3 of these Legal Bases) at the time of the publication of these legal terms, regardless of their nationality, field of study, or level of study.

5.2 To participate, the student:

  • Must be of legal age according to the laws and regulations of Spain and Latin America.
  • Must provide the Organizer, by e-mail, the following mandatory documentation:

Observations:

  • Participants must provide true, complete, and up-to-date information about themselves, limited to what is strictly necessary to manage their participation in the Contest. Otherwise, their participation will be rejected.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to verify the identity and contact information provided by participants.
  • The winner will be required to provide their banking information for prize payment purposes.

5.3 Admission will be based on the order of receipt of the CONTEST OBJECT (see clause 6) and compliance with clause 5.2 of these Legal Bases.

5.4 Participation through agents or third parties, or the use of multiple identities, is not allowed.

5.5 Employees and directors of the Organizer (and other group companies) and their direct relatives are not eligible to participate in the Contest. Likewise, any individual who has participated directly or indirectly in organizing this Contest or has been directly or indirectly involved in its preparation or development (agencies, suppliers, etc.) is also ineligible.

5.6 The Contest will not take place unless at least 10 participants take part.

5.7 The Organizer reserves the right to exclude participants from the Contest at its discretion for various reasons, including but not limited to:

  • Engaging in unfair or illegal behavior during the Contest that may affect its integrity and fair outcome.
  • Engaging in manipulative actions that deceive the Organizer.
  • Violating these Legal Bases.


Examples of unacceptable behavior: bribery or corruption, falsification of information, and harassment or intimidation of other contestants or judges. Confirmation of any such practices will result in disqualification.

6. CONTEST OBJECT

6.1 Participants must write an article between 800 and 1,200 words titled “ChatGPT: Help or Threat to the Employment of New Graduates?”(the «Article») that must meet the following requirements:

  • The Article must be original, meaning it must not have been previously published online or in any other media.
  • The Article must follow the traditional structure of introduction, development, and conclusion. The font must be Arial, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing. It must be saved in Word or Google Docs format, and the file name must include the Participant’s name for easy identification.

6.2 Only one (1) Article per participant is allowed.

6.3 The Article, along with the documentation mentioned in clause 5.2, must be sent via email to concurso-estudiantes@onlinecv.es before the Contest Duration ends.

7. WINNER SELECTION AND ANNOUNCEMENT

7.1 A jury of editorial experts will carefully review the Articles of participants who meet the conditions of clauses 5.2 and 6 of these Legal Bases.

7.2 To evaluate the Article, the jury will consider (but not be limited to): originality, relevance to the theme, coherence and structure, creativity, appropriate use of language, research and analysis, and conclusions. Observations:

  • The following behaviors (among others) are prohibited: plagiarism, use of artificial intelligence (AI) or any similar technology to write the Article, use of inappropriate, offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language that infringes on an individual’s honor, privacy, or personal image.

7.3 There will be one (1) winner (the «Winner») and one (1) alternate winner. The alternate will only be contacted if the Winner cannot be reached and/or does not accept the Prize.

7.4 The Winner announcement will take place on 23-05-2025, via email notification and publication on the Organizer’s website.

7.5 The Winner must notify the Organizer of the acceptance of the Prize within thirty (30) days from the date of receipt of the notification email. Failure to comply with this condition will result in the Prize being awarded to an alternate winner.

8. PRIZE

8.1 The prize consists of a bank transfer of one thousand euros (€1,000) (the «Prize») deposited into the Winner’s indicated bank account for personal use. Observations:

  • The Organizer is not responsible for how the Prize is used.
  • The Contest is free, and no participation fees apply.

8.2 The Prize may be subject to tax regulations, and it is the Winner’s responsibility to manage any associated tax obligations.

8.3 Currency exchange for the received amount will be the Winner’s responsibility.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY


9.1 By participating in the Contest, Participants agree to release and hold harmless the Organizer, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and their respective directors, employees, and agents (collectively, the «Released Parties») from any liability, claim, and action related to participation, including but not limited to claims arising from acceptance, use, or misuse of the Prize.

10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

10.1. Participants and the Winner must have all the exploitation rights of the Article and must not have assigned any rights to a third party.

10.2.  Participants and the Winner will transfer the Intellectual Property rights of their Articles to the Organizer, on an exclusive basis, and for all countries of the world, for the maximum term recognized by the regulations in force, including the rights of exploitation, reproduction, distribution, public communication, transformation, in any of the existing and known modalities of exploitation to date (the “Intellectual Property Rights”). The assignment of exclusive rights to the Organizer implies that the Participants and the Winner may not exploit their Article on their own account.

10.3. The Winner acknowledges and accepts that the amount corresponding to the Prize described in these legal terms include their Intellectual Property rights.

11. DATA PROTECTION

11.1 By participating, Participants acknowledge and accept that the Organizer collects and processes their personal data solely to manage the Contest.

11.2 Participants have the right to access, rectify, delete, or object to the processing of their data by sending a request to concurso-estudiantes@onlinecv.es.

12. APPLICABLE LAW

12.1 These Legal Bases are governed by Spanish laws.

13. MISCELLANEOUS

13.1 This Contest is not linked to any social media platform. Platforms are only used for additional communication.

13.2 If any provision is deemed invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in force.
